African-Caribbean Society Black History Month Ball 2025

The Durham University and Newcastle University African & Caribbean Societies (ACS) are proud to present our flagship event of the year – the Black History Month Ball 2025.

Taking place on Friday 24th October 2025 at Beamish Hall, this elegant evening will bring together members of both universities for a celebration of African and Caribbean heritage, culture, and community.

The programme will include:

    •    A welcome drinks reception

    •    A three-course African & Caribbean-inspired dinner

    •    Cultural performances and entertainment, including a live gospel choir

    •    Awards such as Best Dressed Male & Female

    •    Interactive activities and games (raffle, trivia, finish the lyrics)

    •    A live DJ set and after-dinner party

The Ball is designed to be both elegant and vibrant — combining the formality of a gala dinner with the warmth, creativity, and energy of African and Caribbean traditions. Guests can expect a night of culture, connection, and unforgettable celebration.
