Winter Elections role descriptions:
The first round of elections are the Winter Elections, taking place in February 2025.
The roles elected will be:
Full-time:
- SU President
- Community Officer
- Education Officer
Part-time:
- Faculty President Art and Humanities
- Faculty President Business
- Faculty President Science
- Faculty President Social Sciences and Health
- Societies Officer
- Liberation Officer
- International Officer
The second round of elections are the Spring Elections, taking place around April-May 2025. More information including role descriptions will be available soon.
Wages and hours
Full-time Officer
- Salary: £23,623 minimum (currently under review)
- Hours: 35 hours per week
Part-time Officer
- Wage: £12.60 per hour (this is in line with the Living Wage Foundation)
- Hours: 7 hours per week with some flexibility

13 January 2025 Nominations open.
22 January 2025 Intro to being an Officer.
9 February 2025 Nominations close.
12 & 19 February 2025 Candidate elections training.
17 February 2025 Candidates announced.
24-27 February 2025 Voting will open at 9:00 on 24 February and close at 17:00 on 27 February. This is your time to campaign!
28 February 2025 Results announced.

Likely to be throughout April and May but is subject to change.
Election Process
- Attend our Intro to Being an Officer event on 22 January, 14:00-15:00, AO4, Dunelm House. Sign up here.
- Nominate yourself to be an SU Officer by midnight on 9 February.
- Attend the first candidate campaigns workshop on 12 February, 14:00-15:30, Learning Lounge, Dunelm House where you’ll learn about election rules, how to campaign and have photos taken for social media content. Find out more here.
- Attend the second candidate campaigns workshop on 19 February, 14:00-15:30, Learning Lounge, Dunelm House where you’ll get the chance to work on your campaigns with your campaign team. Find out more here.
- Voting will be open 24-27 February. This is your time to campaign!
- Attend our SU Winter Elections Candidate Celebration event after voting closes.

- We know that elections can be stressful, so SU staff members will be available to provide support throughout the elections process.
