Candidate Profile

Tell students about yourself

Hey! I’m Sabina, currently a first-year Economics student from Newcastle. I’m part of the Economics and Finance Society, where I get involved in events and meet like-minded people. Outside of uni, I enjoy staying up to date with current affairs and meeting new people.

If elected, what sort of Officer can students expect you be?

If elected, I’ll be a proactive and approachable Faculty President, ensuring every student’s voice is heard. I believe in open communication, making decision-making more transparent and inclusive. With my experience as an Economics course rep and involvement in student societies, I understand how to drive change effectively. I’ll work to enhance student engagement, improve academic support, and create more networking opportunities. Let’s make our faculty the best it can be—together!

Why is this role important to you?

This role is important to me because I’m passionate about making sure every student’s voice is heard and valued. As an Economics course rep, I’ve seen first-hand how student feedback can drive real change, and I want to take that further on a faculty-wide level. I believe in creating a more connected, supportive, and engaging environment where students feel empowered to shape their academic experience.

I want to push for better academic support, more networking opportunities, and a stronger sense of community across Business-related courses. By improving communication between students and faculty, we can address key concerns and make meaningful improvements. I’m committed to being an accessible and proactive leader who listens, takes action, and ensures that every student benefits from a better university experience. Together, we can make a real difference!

What is your pitch to students?
